Barcelona are prioritizing the signing of Joshua Kimmich this summer, Ferran Martinez of Mundo Deportivo say.
Barca's sporting director Deco and head coach Xavi agree that Kimmich is the man the club must sign to fill that pivot position.
Xavi reportedly convinced Kimmich to join Barca last summer but Deco blocked the move citing Barca's limited finances. But struggles in that position and Barca failing to win a trophy might've forced a change of heart.
Kimmich remains available this summer with Bayern failing to convince him with a new contract. His current deal expires in June 2025.
Barcelona might end up spending close to €50m if they are to land Kimmich this summer. The 29-year-old German midfielder is a leader at Bayern and the Bavarians are not expected to let him go without a fight.
Barca have options like Betis' Guido Rodriguez and Marco Verratti who was recently offered to Barca.
