'Dembele treatment': Culers proffer solution to Frankie de Jong contract situation 

Some Barcelona fans have urged the club to go hard on Frenkie de Jong following reports that he has refused to extend his contract.

The Netherlands international is contracted to Barca until 30 June 2026, a deal he signed in October 2020, at the height of the coronavirus pandemic, with Josep Maria Bartomeu’s previous board of directors.

The Dutchman took a pay cut at the time in return for recouping that money in the final years of his contract. Barca established contact with the player’s agent in October last year to offer him a new deal.

But De Jong has still not responded to Deco’s first proposal as the new deal would be without a salary increase. Culers are fed up.
