Ex-Barca defender allegedly sent twin brother to play in his place over THREE months

Former Barcelona defender Edgar Ie is 'under suspicion' of sending his twin brother to play in his stead for Romanian club Dinamo Bucharest, according to journalist Emanuel Rosu.

This has allegedly been happening since February when Edgar joined the club. Dinamo got suspicious after finding out that the player only speaks Portuguese despite having played in Portugal, Spain, France, Turkey and the Netherlands. The player also refused to show his driver's license.

Unlike Edgar, his brother, Edelino, has spent most of his career in Portugal's lower leagues, so the club's worries aren't groundless. Besides, Edgar is a defender while his twin brother is a winger, so maybe they've spotted tactical differences too.

The player has made five appearances for Dinamo Bucharest. He could face punishment if the club's suspicions are proven.

Edgar Ie is a 30-year-old who was part of Barcelona from 2012 to 2015, having made one appearances for the first team. He mostly featured for Barca B.
