'I understand': Xavi reveals Lewandowski was ANGRY with sub v Real Sociedad

"We had to press high [against Real Sociedad]. We have Ferran and Fermín, we needed a little more power," Xavi has told the media when asked why he subbed Robert Lewandowski off in the second half against Real Sociedad.

"I understand Lewandowski's anger. I didn't like to be subbed out either, but we're the managers. We're here to decide," the Barca boss added.

Xavi replaced Robert Lewandowski with Ferran Torres in the 76th minute against Real Sociedad. The Pole looked decent and provided Ilkay Gundogan with a lovely pre-assist earlier in the game.

Lewandowski was probably unhappy because he's still in the race for the Pichichi trophy with three games to go. Now it'll be harder for him to keep up with Girona's Artem Dovbyk who is three goals ahead of him.
