Unfortunately, Dest tore his Anterior Cruciate Ligament in April and will be ruled out until January 2025 at the earliest.
However, there's a ray of sunshine for the American defender. Barca are bringing a manager who loves fullbacks with his profile — fast, defensively aware and with an eye for goals and assists.
Dest scored twice and recorded seven assists in his 37 games for PSV before the injury.
There's little doubt that Hansi Flick would want to take a long hard look at Dest before deciding his future.
It's 50-50 now, Dest could become a crucial player for the German manager. Under Xavi, Dest had zero chance of a Barca career.
