How Barcelona can potentially lineup with Flick's two desired midfield signings next season

Hansi Flick has reportedly already held talks with Barcelona officials about the signings he’d want in the summer transfer window.

The German gaffer reportedly wants to strengthen Barca’s midfield. He is eager to sign Bayern Munich man Joshua Kimmich and also Bayer Leverkusen midfielder Exequiel Palacios.

It’s now upon Barca to get moving in the market and sign both the midfielders. Deco & co will probably have to work hard to sign both and might need to sell some existing players.

But in the case that the club signs both these targets, Flick could change up his midfield shape for next season.

The gaffer is likely to make Barca play in a 4-2-3-1 formation, which helped him succeed at Bayern Munich. But the arrival of these two players can mean bad news for Frenkie de Jong.

Kimmich is likely to play as the deepest midfielder. Palacios, meanwhile, should slot beside him as the possession winner and the one to keep moving the ball forward.

Pedri could play a more advanced role and Gavi might play into the left-wing role, which he often played under Xavi. Robert Lewandowski and Lamine Yamal would fulfill the other attacking roles.

Barca’s potential XI with two new midfielders: Ter Stegen, Kounde, Araujo/NEW CB, Cubarsi, Balde, Kimmich, Palacios, Pedri, Gavi, Yamal, Lewandowski
