After Xavi was fired by Barcelona, one of his staff members sent a text message to encourage his fellow assistants.
Diario AS obtained a copy of the text and have now shared its content.
"This is football and we realize that we have arrived at a sunken team, without soul and base," the message reads.
“We left with a League title and a Super Cup by winning against Real Madrid.
“We left a foundation, which if well cared for, will bear many fruits," the message concludes.
It sounds like Xavi's staff are proud of what they managed to achieve at Barca in two and half years at the club. When Xavi was employed by Barca they were 9th in La Liga. He has proceeded to help them qualify for three successive Champions Leagues.
Xavi handed debuts to 15 players from La Masia and won two trophies in that period. The Barca legend can leave with his head held high.
