Xavi: 'I respect the president's decision to sack me. I don't regret anything'

Xavi has opened up on his feelings after being sacked as Barcelona manager before the final game of the 2023/24 season.

Speaking to the media, he revealed: "I'm fine. Of course they were difficult days, not easy days. But well, I’m here with a clear mind and I would like to say that I am proud of the two and a half years as coach. It was not easy.

"I respect the president’s decision to sack me, it’s him the one who decides. I will always be Barcelona fan and supporting the club.

"I have had to make very important decisions. I don't regret anything. I have been honest and sincere with players, leaders and sports directors. I think we have worked with a lot of honor and a lot of love for this club."

Xavi is expected to be replaced by Hansi Flick as the new Barcelona manager after the match against Sevilla. The decision to sack the Spaniard was taken after his recent controversial comments where Xavi claimed that Barca couldn't compete for top honours next season.
