Barcelona have been linked with Liverpool winger Luis Diaz throughout the course of the last year. That’s because the Colombian is a big fan of the Blaugrana.
However, as per Fabrizio Romano, the prospect of Diaz joining Barca is currently ‘impossible’. This is due to the club’s financial restrains.
Liverpool will ask for a major fee to let their prized winger leave, something that the Blaugrana can’t afford to splurge on right now.
The Colombian winger recently pled his loyalty to his club too, saying: “I’m very happy there at Liverpool, it’s a great team and club, I’ve always wanted to play there, so I’m very happy and relaxed. I’m not thinking about anything else.”
Diaz’s father has indicated in the past that his son dreams of a future move to Barca. But a transfer isn’t logical right now due to the club’s financial troubles.
Instead, Barca might look to sign Athletic Bilbao winger Nico Williams to strengthen their forward line instead. The Spaniard is reportedly eager to a move to the Blaugrana, but sacrifices must be made for that deal to happen as well.
