Mohammed Kudus joining West Ham days after bagging hat-trick for Ajax

Mohammed Kudus is set to join West Ham United from Ajax in a deal worth around £38m, confirms BBC.

The 23-year-old Ghanaian attacker can play down the middle and on the right and will add variety to David Moyes's attack.

Although a host of other clubs around Europe targeted Kudus -- from Barcelona in Spain to Chelsea and Brighton in the Premier League -- the player chose West Ham. Who wouldn't want to join one of the league leaders, after all?

In three years at Ajax, Kudus scored 27 in 87 appearances. His exit was much expected and, for quite a few Ajax fans, anticipated. That's because for all his obvious talent, Kudus wanted to leave the club on multiple occasions.

West Ham continue an impressive transfer campaign despite a slow start. They have signed James Ward-Prowse who already scores and assists for the Hammers, as well as centre-back Konstantinos Mavropanos and defensive midfielder Edson Alvarez.

Not bad for a club that placed adverts for new signings just a few weeks ago.

As for Kudus, he leaves on a high; literally two days ago he bagged a farewell hat-trick in a Europa League qualifier as Ajax team won 4-1.
