Rodri had some kind words for goalkeeper Stefan Ortega Moreno after his goal played a crucial role in Man City's 3-1 Champions League win over FK Crvena Zvezda.
Rodrigo's calm finish into the bottom corner secured the three points for City in their Group G opener, with less than 20 minutes left in the game. This goal adds to his tally of three goals in all competitions this season.
Rodrigo gave a shout-out to Ortega Moreno for his halftime advice, which led to his well-placed finish. Rodri said via Mancity.com: "I turned at that moment and I looked for the far corner. Sometimes you don’t have to shoot strong."
"Stefan [Ortega Moreno] told me at half-time that their goalkeeper was paying attention to the ball in the air, and not down or by the sides of the goal, so good advice!"
After delivering another outstanding performance, Rodri earned the title of Player of the Match. He thinks that his progress has been helped by getting more experience in the position he's assigned to play.
