The 45-year-old Tunisian man suspected of killing two Swedish nationals has been killed, reports Reuters citing Belgian media.
The gunman had killed two civilians ahead of the EURO 2024 qualifier between Belgium and Sweden. The victims turned out to be Swedish citizens, most likely football fans.
Although the killings took place before the kick-off, the game proceeded until half time when it was suspended.
A state of alert was prompted in the capital of Belgium following the incident. It took the police until early morning to track down the gunman and neutralise him.
