According to the annual report from the Netherlands Gaming Authority (KSA), the gross gaming revenue (GGR) in the country totalled €1.39bn in 2023 which is 28% more than in 2022 (€1.08bn).
The regulating body says that the country's gaming market was growing especially rapidly during the first half of the year while in the last six month, GGR was only up 1% year-on-year.
Judging by the GGR, the largest share of Dutch gaming market belongs to casino table games and slot machines: they accounted for 77% of the GGR.
According to the data received from legal bookmaking and gambling operators, 726,000 players were active in the last six months of 2023, which is 5% of the adult population of the Netherlands. On average, each active Dutch player visits 2.9 gambling websites per month.
The average amount of money lost by a single player between July and December 2023 is €958 or €160 per month.
