'Little things like that': Dele Alli explains why League One is harder to play in

Dele Alli revealed that playing in League One was harder than playing in England's top league. When asked about current England squad members playing in the Football League, Alli shared his thoughts.

He said: "It sounds weird...but it's almost like playing in League One was harder than playing in the Premier League. Obviously, the quality, there's a huge difference."

"The quality of the pitches, the players you're playing with, their movements. Sometimes you get the ball and I'll be thinking players will be in certain positions and they're not.

"Whereas in the Premier League, they're always there... the pass they're giving you is straight to your foot most of the time, so just little things like that make it harder."

Alli was born in Milton Keynes and grew up playing for MK Dons. He started playing for their first team when he was only 16, during a game against Cambridge City in the FA Cup.

His first league match was in the 2012/13 season when he came on as a substitute. In 2015, he moved to Tottenham Hotspur and played really well there. Now, Alli belongs to Everton, but he hasn't played at all in the 2023/24 season.
