Pedro Chirivella lifts lid on Klopp's team talk ahead of Merseyside derby

Liverpool midfielder Pedro Chirivella has opened up on the dressing room talk Jurgen Klopp gave his team ahead of the FA Cup tie against Everton.

"We got told just to give everything, not to worry if we are not right in the press or are not pressing well, just give everything and run for each other," Chirivella said as cited by Metro.

"Everyone was responsible for everyone and I think we did that and we are very proud of it.

"When Liverpool plays our way then it’s hard for any team, no matter the players who are on the pitch. We train all together and we try to get better with each other and I think it was hard for Everton because we were very good.

"It was a starting XI who probably never played together. We got the crowd going and we played with 12 men. They were with us the whole game. After that, we got control of the game in midfield and started passing the ball to each other and creating chances.

"I think in the second half we were much better than them and we deserved going through to the next round."

Against Everton, Klopp fielded a side full of youngsters who weren't even born when Everton beat Liverpool at Anfield last time. However, the Reds starlets helped by Adam Lallana, Joe Gomez, Adrian, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain and Divock Origi surpassed the Toffees' senior players and won thanks to the worldie scored by Curtis Jones.
