Pearce: Liverpool consider attacking options; Werner likeliest candidate

According to the latest report from The Athletic's James Pearce, Liverpool plan to sign another striker and RB Leipzig's Timo Werner is the likeliest (and the cheapest) option. 

The decision is dictated by the new frames for the African Cup of Nations for 2021. The tournament that was previously set to take place in the summer of 2021 in Cameroon is now rescheduled for winter of 2021. It will start on January 6 and will continue up until February 6.

The likes of Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah and Naby Keita will depart to their national sides for around four weeks to take part in the competition which will add a new headache for Klopp. 

The Reds will, therefore, hit the summer transfer market once again, looking for reinforcements.
