Prior to the Champions League encounter with RB Salzburg, Jurgen Klopp has revealed Joel Matip is a doubt for tomorrow's game and will be assessed on Wednesday.
Xherdan Shaqiri and Alisson Becker are closing in on return to full training but fielding them against the Austrians tomorrow would be way too soon.
"[We are] in a good mood, good spirits, but we have to wait a little bit to give a final answer about fitness," Klopp told his news conference at Melwood. "Joel Matip obviously got a slight knock at Sheffield, we have to see how exactly it will be.
"Apart from that, everybody should be fine. Of course, we have the players who weren’t available last week – that means Shaq is still out; Alisson is very close but for sure not for tomorrow. I think that’s it pretty much."
Alisson Becker has been on the sidelines since the Premier League opener against Norwich City where he tore his calf muscle and had to be replaced by Adrian. As for Shaqiri, the Swiss international was expected to feature in the Carabao Cup clash with MK Dons but picked a knock in training ahead of the game.
