Liverpool have lost to Atletico Madrid 3-2 at Anfield and, therefore, have been eliminated from the Champions League. Jurgen Klopp has shared thoughts on the game.
"It's so difficult to play a side like this. I don't understand with the quality they have the football they play," the boss told BT Sport. "They could play proper football but they stand deep and have counter-attacks.
"I realise I am a really bad loser, especially when the boys put such an effort in against world-class players on the other side who defend with two rows of four."
Liverpool played a strong game of football overall and managed to overcome a one-goal deficit after the first leg in Spain, thanks to Gini Wijnaldum's header in the first half.
In extra time, Bobby Firmino scored the Reds' second which put Jurgen Klopp's closer to a victory, however, a goal by Marcos Llorente after a horrible mistake by Adrian turned things around.
The Spanish midfielder went on to collect a brace while Alvaro Morata ended the game with an effort of his own seconds before the final whistle.
Next up for Liverpool is a Premier League clash against Everton at Goodison Park next Monday. The Reds are just 6 points away from the Premier League title at the moment.
