'In England, it would be Sadio Mane': David Silva picks best players among those who have not been his teammates

David Silva has been asked to choose the best active player among those who have not been his teammates. The Manchester City playmaker has named two.

"In the whole world, it’s easy - Messi is the best," the 34-year-old said in a Q&A session on Reddit.

"In England, I think it would be Sadio Mane at Liverpool, he’s doing really well."

Indeed, it's hard to overestimate Sadio Mane's impact on Liverpool's sensational Premier League run this season. The winger has made 26 appearances within the competition, scored 14 goals and provided 9 assists.

Furthermore, the 28-year-old's 14 goals have earned the Reds 18 points. That is the most points won by goals for any player in the league this term. Wolves striker Raul Jimenez and Arsenal forward Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang are tied at second with 16.
