According to reports in France, Pedro Chirivella will neither stay at Liverpool nor join Steven Gerrard's Rangers this summer. Instead, the 23-year-old will sign with Nantes, as per French outlet 20 Minutes (h/t Sportslens).
The midfielder will reportedly undergo a medical at the Ligue 1 side on Wednesday and is set to sign a 3-year deal after his contract with the Reds expires.
It's yet to be seen whether Pedro will be given a short-term extension because his deal ends on June 30, 2020, when the season is very much likely to be still in progress.
Earlier, Transfer Window Podcast claimed Rangers were interested in Pedro as manager Steven Gerrard had received impressive reports about the player’s professionalism and training efforts.
Liverpool were believed to have offered Chiivella a new five-year deal which he was going to reject as he wants more game time.
Chirivella signed with Liverpool in 2013 and has had loan spells at Go Ahead Eagles, Willem II and Extremadura. At Liverpool, he was mostly restricted to youth team appearances, registering just 6 first-team outings, all in domestic cups, this season.
