Liverpool reportedly plan to offer Lovren to Napoli in order to lower price for Koulibaly

According to Tuttosport, Liverpool are willing to offer Dejan Lovren to Napoli in order to sign Kalidou Koulibaly.

As per the report, the Reds hope Napoli chiefs would lower their asking price for the Senegalese if they accept the offer. Previously, Napoli president Aurelio De Laurentiis claimed the Parthenopei would not even consider any bid of less than £60million for their centre-back.

Dejan Lovren has always been a loyal servant to Liverpool but his questionable performances have moved him behind Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez and Joel Matip in the pecking order.

This season, the Croatia international has been reduced to just ten Premier League appearances. Considering his contract with the Reds expires in the summer of 2021, this is the last opportunity for Liverpool to cash in.

Meanwhile, Kalidou Koulibaly has been linked with Liverpool for more than a year, although neither anyone at Liverpool nor the defender himself have confirmed the interest from Merseyside.
