“They deserved their two goals”, the Liverpool manager told BBC Sport.
“We played a really good football game tonight. It was easy on the eye. We passed the ball and finished situations off. The boys wanted to play football and showed an exceptional attitude.
“That’s how it should be [Liverpool’s second XI playing like their first]. Wear the shirt and show who you are. I’m happy with everything. The goals were really nice. All three centre-halves are still fit, so that's really cool!
“Two goals we conceded were not nice, but it’s not a massive problem. There was a lot of good football. We make changes - we made mistakes - they scored - but everyone can take something from this game. You can have struggles in a game like this.”
Liverpool pretty much cruised through the Carabao Cup third round, beating Lincoln City 7-2 without really breaking a sweat. Curtis Jones and Takumi Minamino stood out in what was an enjoyable game to watch.
While the defence could do with some improvements, we can't dwell too much on the negatives after a victory like this - we'll face Arsenal in the next round and we can't wait to beat the Gunners now!
