"Wow - what a desire!" Liverpool assistant manager Pep Lijnders said about Takumi Minamino referring to his brilliant performance against Lincoln City in the Carabao Cup tie last week, as quoted by the Liverpool Echo.
"He is somebody who turns our game collective as well, the same as what Roberto [Firmino] does.
"His professionalism on the pitch and off the pitch is outstanding. His development so far has been really great and he is that player who always gives everything, each day.
"If you are already good, then it becomes really interesting. If he can keep that up, we will be really happy with that and long may it continue."
Jurgen Klopp has already spoken glowingly about Minamino's performance in the previous Carabao Cup round, and fans are largely in agreement with the manager.
The Japanese is set to feature on Thursday against Arsenal, but it remains to be seen when he can become a regular starter in the Premier League - if Bobby Firmino is his direct competitor, he won't go down without a fight.
