Adrian 7, Wilson 5.5: rating Liverpool players after Arsenal defeat

Adrian - 7

The back-up keeper was not required to do too much but he still made some really good saves in the normal time. On the downside, he probably should've done better at Arsenal's last penalty, but let's not judge him on that too much - Liverpool might not have reached the penalties without him at all.

The right-back showed all his critics what he's made of. His speed and awareness saved the Reds in a very critical situation when Saka received the ball in a comfortable position in the bo. In general, it looked a tough match-up for Neco, but he managed to neutralise the dangerous Arsenal winger.

Another solid performance from the 19-year-old centre-back who will be competing with Billy Coumetio for the 'Next Big Thing' tag among defenders.

The Portuguese forward made a positive impact as he always tried to be in the thick of it. He arguably emerges as the first-choice back-up for the front three and if he continues like this, Liverpool won't worry too much when Sadio Mane leaves for AFCON.

The Serb deserves a special mention after another impressive performance in the Carabao Cup. Bernd Leno had quite a hard time dealing with Grujic's shots from outside the box, as well as his headers. A composed performance from the midfielder - it's a pity that Liverpool are already stocked there.

Not to pile on the 23-year-old after the penalty miss (it could happen with anyone), but it was far from a perfect game if he wanted to show himself to potential suitors. Maybe it was because of his slightly unusual role in the midfield, but Wilson was not as effective in moving the ball forward as Klopp would've liked him to be.
