Asked about what Jurgen Klopp feels about his move to Union Berlin, Loris Karius told Sky Deutschland: "He said it is a good step and I have the chance to distinguish myself here and that I can show everyone that I’m a really good goalkeeper.
"He was always fair and honest. He always tells you what the situation is like. We always had a good relationship and never had a problem. His success speaks for itself. He is currently one of the best coaches in the world."
Karius joined Union Berlin on a season-long loan. The 27-year-old spent the previous 2 years at Besiktas, conceding 95 goals in 67 appearances across all competitions.
The goalkeeper is unlikely to play for Liverpool ever again.
