'If he starts surely he should play the whole game': Liverpool fan concerned by Klopp's handling of Tsimikas

Kostas Tsimikas has barely kicked a ball this season, clocking only 159 minutes of competitive football for the Reds. He played the entirety of the League Cup game vs Lincoln, made a brief appearance in the away victory against Atalanta and started in the reverse fixture against the Italian side.

However, he was taken off just after the hour mark, as Andy Robertson, who has started all 9 EPL games, was introduced. And this Liverpool fan thinks Klopp should trust the Greek defender more.

"I think Tsimikas should have played the whole game vs Atalanta unless he's still recovering from an injury or something," a LFC supporter nicknamed Post_Coconut_Clarity wrote on Reddit.

"We spent so long desperate for proper fullback cover. Neco comes within his own issues since he's so young and still finding his feet, Kostas is supposed to be the proven, experienced one we can rely on. So far this season we're still running the likes of Trent, Robbo and Milly (by extension) into the ground.

"I totally get it takes a long time to get to grips with the ways of LFC fullbacks, but if Tsimikas starts surely he should play the whole game. Robbo is in need of proper rest and Tsimikas wasn't really handed any sense of trust with that (presumably planned) substitution on the hour. We need to invest in him more if he's expected to be a quality stand-in for Robbo.

"I know Robbo himself took many months to get into the side, but we're talking about a second choice player whose chances are going to limited at the best of times. So I do find it a bit strange he's only played vs Atalanta and Lincoln so far."
