Liverpool fan makes Coutinho comparison elaborating on Minamino's struggles

"In a way he was a belated Coutinho replacement, but Coutinho himself was someone who we had to really build a team around because he's not a system player," Fromola wrote for on the Red and White Kop forum of Takumi Minamino.

"Even in 13/14 he was often the odd one out in a Sterling/Suarez/Sturridge front three. After Suarez left and Sturridge got injured, Coutinho became our best player and we had to build more around him. "With Coutinho though even if he didn't really fit into a system, he could still make an impact. Minamino is struggling to do that. I watched him at Lincoln in the cup and he completely ran that game from start to finish.

"Obviously it was only Lincoln but he was everywhere and ran the show, while Origi plodded through the game despite getting a goal and some others didn't make an impact. "While we can say he found his level there, he really impressed against us in the CL last season and that's as high a level as you can get against the European champions in the biggest competition.  He's a good footballer, but he's struggling to adapt to our first team."

Since joining Liverpool in January 2019, the Japan international has made 25 appearances across all competitions managing 3 goals and 1 assist.

Against Brighton, the attacker played the full 90 minutes but had a limited impact on the game.
