'Will be second-choice RB over Milner' vs 'I’d consider replacing him': Liverpool fan thinks Neco Williams is good enough for LFC, another Red disagrees

"Before the match I was really worried for him that he'd be up against Traore all game and get massacred," a Reddit user Trebor417 wrote about Neco Williams and his performance against Wolverhampton.

"Gets a yellow two minutes in and continues to put in a super composed performance, joined attacks well in the build-ups with some fast accurate short passing, good defensive moments too.

'Traore switches over to the left, I'm thinking this could go poorly, shuts down the cross when it looks like he'd been beaten and wasn't troubled again for the rest of the game.

"Vast improvement from him in the past two games, went from being considered a liability by many to putting two high-quality performances in. If he plays that comfortably every game he'll be second choice right back over Milner.

Neco did look reliable at Anfield on Sunday but does it mean he has a future at Liverpool? This fan does not think so.

"He is easily pressed whilst on the ball, but good retrieving the ball..." ChocolateHumunculous wrote in response to Trebor417's post.

"I’d say he’s a good few gym sessions away from his potential, and did well to pocket Adama when needed.

"He’s liable for mistakes, which Trent isn’t, and he doesn’t have the deft of cross that Trent has. Aside from that, a good enough player for any team in the Championship, but I’d consider replacing him in the upcoming windows. We need a Tsimskas-level player in his role, he’s too far from that as we speak.

"TAA has the natural build, Neco doesn’t, unfortunately. Again, that said, he was as good as anyone on the pitch tonight."

What do you think?
