OFFICIAL: Taiwo Awoniyi completes Union Berlin move

 on a permanent deal, the Reds' official website confirms.

The 23-year-old was on Liverpool's books since 2015 but didn't play a single game for the club as he was unable to get the work permit that was awarded to him earlier this year.

Awoniyi spent the last seasons out on loan, including the last campaign at Union Berlin where he scored 5 goals and registered 2 assists in 22 games.

It was reported that Liverpool will get £6.5m for the forward while a 10 per cent sell-on clause is also included in the deal.

The 25-year-old joins the Portuguese side on a five-year deal.

It was previously reported the Reds would get a £10.5m fee for the midfielder.

Just because he's banging a few in over there doesn't mean he would do the same in the Premier League, the reds were right in letting him go if Klopp thought he could cut it in the prem he would have kept him he was obviously behind the front 3 and Origi so no loss here, i wish the lad well.

Fair play to him... but remember two things... 1. he was never going to get in the first team, even Origi was above him... if Wilson couldn't get a chance he certainly wouldnt and 2. the German league is no where near as fast paced as the Prem... would he even scored goals at this level🤔
