Elliott to return to training next week: The Guardian 

 is one of the most exciting young footballers in the game and he was enjoying a breakout start to the 2021-22 season. 

Unfortunately, a terrible injury against Leeds early in the season set Elliott back after his ankle was dislocated following a challenge from 

Elliott has been on the road to recovery since and although it was expected to be longer, could find himself back in action as soon as later this month. 

The Guardian are reporting that the 18-year-old is expected back in training for 

 and the player have both recently shared that he wasn't far away, but recent developments suggest he could be back in time to help the Reds through AFCON-related absences. 

'Not too far away': Klopp shares update on Harvey Elliott's return

 has been out injured since September after he suffered an ankle injury in the 3-0 win against 

The teenager was in the form of his life and it was a devastating blow to see him out of action. However, it might not be long before we see Elliott on the field.

Jurgen Klopp told the media about the player's return: "Harvey Elliott looks really promising on the pitch, he is not too far away from team training."

It was earlier speculated by The Athletic and other sources that Elliott could make his on-field return in the middle of February. Should he be back in team training by the end of this month, that seems like a good target date for his comeback. 

We can't wait to see the young star show his magic on the field again!

There were fears that he would miss the rest of the season but the 18-year-old has been recovering rapidly. 

Elliott has shared a number of updates on his Instagram account and his latest post gives cause for optimism. 

The attacking midfielder posted a picture of him working with a ball on the training ground captioned, "New year, same grind. Not long now."

There is still no concrete date set for Elliott to be back among the first team, but it looks like fans won't have to wait for too long!

Very well said. That youngsters doesn't have it all emmidiately is a thing I've tried to point out too.
He surprised me how well he could play in midfield but got to give him time now to get back

I agree with you Carlos, he surely needs some time to get back his best performance.  On the hope that injury did not leave any psychological effects on Elliott.  I still see VVD is not the same old one before injury.

Any how, it is very promising news to have him back to the team.

Lets not put top much pressure on the youngster in his first season in the squad. 
It is desperation if we were to say he will be our saviour, always find a young player is great in a winning team playing with confidence but rarely find they can influence a team that is struggling or lacking in confidence.
 Youngsters as you would expect don't have the knowledge or the experience to lead by example, that comes with time.
