Contract length, announcement soon: Romano shares Nunez latest

"Darwin Núñez agreement on personal terms with Liverpool is for the next six years: contract will be valid until June 2028," Fabrizio Romano tweeted.

"Núñez is now in Spain with his agent, just waiting to fly to Merseyside once the contracts between clubs are signed - could be tomorrow."

Romano previously reported that Liverpool have reached an agreement with Benfica over transfer fee. The Reds would pay €80m and €20m in bonuses.

This claim was disputed by Paul Joyce, who reported that Liverpool and Benfica are €9.3m apart in valuation of the striker.

Nunez was not in Uruguay's matchday squad against Panama yesterday, with journalists suggesting he was given a leave to negotiate with the Reds.
