Liverpool Echo

 missed Liverpool's entire pre-season due to an injury but as per the Liverpool Echo, his return is not far off.

He is yet to start training with the team but Jota is expected to 'be back on grass' by the end of this month.

 is also not believed to be 'far off' and will start training with his new teammates soon.

 is expected to return in two weeks while 

 is back in training this week and will be fit for the Crystal Palace game.

'Proof of belief in me as a player': Jota reacts to new LFC contract

l's official website when asked about his first reaction to signing a new deal with the Reds.

"Obviously since I arrived two years ago I established myself as an important player in this team – that’s what I wanted from the beginning. 

"Now, signing a new long-term deal, it’s obviously from the club’s perspective proof of the belief in myself as a player. For me, obviously it’s really good to establish I’ll be here for a while. 

"So, the beginning of a new season, let’s do it."

Jota has signed a deal keeping him at Anfield until 2027. He's currently injured but is expected back in a few weeks' time.

"A no-brainer, I have to say," the striker said when asked if extending his stay was an easy decision to make.

"Obviously one of the best clubs in the world. Last year was good for me and for the team. Like I said, [it’s] a proof we are doing things right and hopefully we can keep doing that."

The Portugal international has scored 34 goals and provided nine assists in 85 appearances for Liverpool so far.

 has signed a new long-term contract with Liverpool, with his new deal not continuing until 2027.

Jurgen Klopp shared his thoughts on this news as he told Liverpoolfc.com: "Brilliant, brilliant news, I would say.

"His qualities are obvious. He scores goals – not a bad quality – he works unbelievably hard for the team, his pressing and counter-pressing are on an unbelievable level, he can play in all of our attacking roles and he has an incredible attitude. Not a bad package. Not bad at all.

"As a striker who can play on the wing, he gives us so many options and since he came to Liverpool he has improved so much.

"I have said before that Diogo is the player we hoped he would be but also a little bit better, so long may this continue."

Jota scored 21 goals for the Reds last season. He is only 25 years old and will no doubt get better and better with time - the Portuguese striker will have a big role to play in his coming years at the club.
