'He was correct, wasn't he?': Moyes sides with Klopp over touchline outburst in City game

"I don't think you should really be asking me a question about Jurgen Klopp because I can't speak for Jurgen Klopp," West Ham boss David Moyes told a press conference when asked about the Liverpool head coach's angry outburst at the assistant referee in the Man City game.

"For 90 minutes or so it becomes a really emotional game, sometimes you can change your character from what your true character is.

"But I think if we stood there and did nothing I think our supporters, the public, you (the media), would probably be questioning why not?

"I think if you look at the incident he got angry about he was correct, wasn't he?"

Indeed, Klopp's reaction was caused by the officials' failure to see a blatant foul on Mo Salah - although even the boss himself admitted that his reaction was over the top.

The German has been charged by the FA for 'improper conduct' but should be on the bench for the West Ham game as he has until Friday to respond.
