'I wanted to assist him': Tsimikas on Nunez's goal vs West Ham

"Yes, it's a very good moment for me. Especially because it was a cross for Darwin because I wanted to assist him," Kostas Tsimikas told the official Liverpool website about his assist for Nunez's match-winning goal against West Ham.

"I'm very, very happy for him because I know he wanted to score also. Obviously he would [want] to score more goals but hopefully he keeps his energy and his goal for the next games.

"I'm very, very happy for that. It's like every day I work with it to make better crosses and to have better performances. So, I'm very happy for that."

Nunez's header was special for him as this was his first goal at Anfield as a Liverpool player.

Tsimikas himself may be a backup for Andy Robertson, but he has already quietly registered five assists this season, more than any other Liverpool full-back.
