 has avoided a touchline ban for the 'improper conduct' in the 

The FA pressed charges against Klopp after the German was sent off in the City game for shouting at the assistant referee after he failed to spot 

Considering that there were calls to ban Klopp for weeks, if not months, this is a big win for the boss.

 his comments that were deemed 'xenophobic' by Man City. 

Former ref slams Klopp as 'hypocrite', wants him banned for 'months' for officials abuse

A former referee whose name has been withheld wrote a letter to Football365 to ask the FA to make an example of 

 and ban him for months after his outburst at the assistant referee during the 

"I enjoyed the match at Anfield and thought 

 were well worth their win – never really felt that Man City had a sustained period of control," the unnamed referee writes.

"Some good performances on both sides but the outstanding performance of the day was the referee in my opinion. He let the game flow (without any silly tackles getting out of control) and got the major calls right.

"My main point however is the appalling behaviour of Jurgen Klopp, all mad-eyed and spittle-flecked fully ranting in someone’s face about a completely inconsequential decision that was called wrong. 

"Shock horror, officials do make mistakes….but so do players. I can only imagine what Klopp did to 

 when he missed a clear header on goal or 

"But in reality, he’s a hypocrite….he won’t blame his players (nor would any manager in the PL when they can instead have a go at an assistant referee).

"I was a qualified referee for many years and was eventually assaulted by a player who was subsequently banned for 5 years. 

"Klopp’s behaviour normalises this attitude towards officials and I have no doubt that had yesterday’s incident occurred on a local park pitch without cameras and thousands of spectators it would have likely been physical.

"I have no axe to grind with Liverpool specifically and there are other managers who also behave irresponsibly (see Guardiola during the VAR check yesterday), but if the FA is at all serious about halting the terrible rise in serious assaults on grassroots officials, the ban should be measured in months not days."

While there's no denying that the issue is serious in the grassroots, it's a pretty big leap of faith to suggest that Klopp would've inescapably become physical with the official if the game had not been televised.

So far, there's no suggestion that a lengthy ban for Klopp is something realistic even after he was charged with 'improper conduct' by the FA.

“I still think I should have dealt differently with the situation, which I actually do usually", 

 told a press conference when asked about the incident that led to his dismissal near the end of the 

"I explained after the game: in this moment you could not bring me in this mood, no chance. But the whole game led to that maybe a little bit, the way it went.

"It was a very, very intense game with a lot of decisions both managers didn’t understand, on both sides. This was then for me like… in Germany we say ‘the one drop that let the bucket overflow’. Does this make sense somehow?

"I’m not happy with my reaction but that’s the way it was, everybody saw it. I was sitting after the game in the office of [referee] Anthony Taylor and spoke completely calmly about all the situations, about how he saw the game and how I saw the game. It was a completely calm discussion.

"But anyway, that’s the situation: I got a red card and now we wait for the process, pretty much."

Klopp was sent off for his reaction to the officials' failure to spot 

The FA has charged the boss for 'improper conduct' but as he has until Friday to respond to those charges, Klopp should be in the dugout for the West Ham game.

I’m sorry this so called ref thinks they made good decisions during that game dunno what game he was watching I seen at least 4 fouls that where not given even a clear handball but of course nobody will mention that as for klopp he did nothing wrong he did what any player would do when the referees are not doing there jobs properly it’s called passion as for the fa there a joke the only ones who should be getting fined are the officials because I can’t help but get the feeling the officials are helping certainly teams look at United how have they gone from being the worse team ever to winning nearly all there games something is going on and there getting help again it’s going back to the Ferguson days again

this FA is biased, how could the linesman not see that blatant foul? they the officials have their dicks where the eyes are suppose to be or they get brown envelopes from the rich clubs.if the FA didn't see that foul then I rest my case,its corruption.
