'He's had a good start bar the red card': Liverpool fans maintain faith in Darwin Nunez

Darwin Nunez continues to divide opinions in the Premier League with many British pundits criticising the Uruguayan.

However, Liverpool supporters believe that the 23-year-old has turned out to be a positive addition to the squad despite his early struggles.

Mundaneinanities (via /r/LiverpoolFC): "He's had a good start bar the red card. For his age and the jump in leagues, he's been a good signing. Maybe not 'greatest signing ever!' levels of good, but an absolute positive addition. And I only expect him to get better."

AlternativeTurnip307: "If he wasn't signed in the same window as Haaland, we'd be hearing about him being one of the best signings along with a few of Newcastle's additions but since the robot has been insane it overshadows any other transfers."

JasonTodd123456: "Totally different player to Suarez, but going through a similar settling in. In his first and half seasons at Liverpool, Suarez used to just shoot, shoot, shoot. Missed constantly. Used to say he was a scorer of great goals, but not a great goal scorer. Then bang, world class."

Ningen121: "I don't think Klopp intended to start him week in week out initially but with injuries to Jota/Diaz he's got no other option to play him. As we've seen in the past, some players take time to adapt to his style and the league."

jod1991: "Just shows what some good coaching and the right attitude can do when the talent is there. And Nunez absolutely clearly has all the ingredients and I get the impression he grafts in training."

fkitbaylife: "Imo he's like Salah. He's not super clinical but if the team starts performing he will be on the end of so many chances that the goals will come, which is exactly like Salah. Even during his insane first season he was missing lots of chances that a more clinical forward would have scored. But he only got those chances because of his speed on and off the ball."
