The claims that the Reds have signed the 

Benfica are not negotiating with any clubs for Fernandez and want to sign him to stay this season.

The Portuguese club will not sell him for anything less than €120m, which is his release clause.

Liverpool are reportedly planning to make a ‘monstrous bid’ for him, but it’s still not confirmed whether they’ll pay €120m for him.

Fernandez won the World Cup Young Player of the Tournament award after excelling in the competition with Argentina.

This would be a massive outlay but, according to football finance expert Mo Chatra, financing those deals would be 'feasible'.

The key will be in structuring the deals for the fees to be paid in instalments.

"This could work out at £82.4m initially and then £61.8m after a year and another £61.8m the following year," Chatra tweets.

According to the club's accounts, Liverpool have spent around ₤150m per year on the 'acquisition of player registrations' (i.e. transfer fees) over the past three seasons.

Liverpool still have instalments to pay for some of their past deals (

 among them). However, they would amount to less than £100m for the 2022/23 season.

As a result, signing both Bellingham and Fernandez is possible - if 

 are willing to negotiate over the terms of the payment.

look il be honest,it's getting ridiculous what clubs want for players nowadays,most of them are overrated,there needs to be a cap put on in the market for players..can't blame FSG for being tight fisted..I think it's all about moola now,and can do alot of damage to clubs like us who don't quite have the moola to get good players..its a shame that football has become greed and that's why Arab money will win at the races on the day...sad bunch of arses in today's world where money is e.thing,s.thing quickly must be done to put a cap on the pricing of individuals as to how much he is really worth,or the clubs who are not that rich suffer because mediocre players are priced out of the market because they had a good world cup showing..one can't put a Nike label on a player because of one good performance..put this one in the barrel and smoke it...shite...

I think if we're to sign players like Enzo Fernandez or Jude Bellingham we just have to splash the cash.
I think his price will be negotiated down to about 70 - 80m and paid in installments same with Jude next year.
sadly player prices are ridiculous but their salary cap isn't over the odds so once they're signed up they can be managed and it  comfortably fits into our wage bill.
It's a risk FSG must be willing to take if we'd ever rebuild that midfield.
