The Fenway Sports Group (FSG) have told their close confidants that they expect to remain as Liverpool owners for at least another year, claims The Athletic.
‘Senior sources’ who are close to FSG have indicated that the sale of Liverpool is not expected to be finalized before the end of 2023.
The American owners are tempted to listen to lucrative offers immediately, but aren’t really in a hurry to do a sale.
This means that FSG could still be Liverpool owners for the upcoming summer transfer window as well.
The owners are, however, reportedly willing to spend significant transfer fees to give Jurgen Klopp what he wants in the summer.
It remains to be seen just how much time the Liverpool sale happens, but as it stands, it doesn’t look like it’ll be anytime soon.
