Ex-Liverpool goalie Mignolet wins Golden Shoe in Belgium

Former Liverpool goalkeeper Simon Mignolet has found a new lease on life in Belgium.

Last night, Mignolet was voted the best footballer in the Belgian league and awarded the Golden Shoe for his effort last year.

Liverpool sold Mignolet to Club Brugge in 2019 for €7m after six years at the club. Before his departure, Mignolet had fallen down the pecking order among Liverpool goalies and played just two games in his final season.

Last season, the Belgian goalie kept 18 clean sheets in his 49 games for Club Brugge.
