As per Fabrizio Romano, Liverpool have taken an interest in Bundesliga star Florian Wirtz. Barcelona is currently the club most heavily linked to him but the Reds are "monitoring" him as well.
“Especially the situation of Liverpool is one to watch, because Liverpool are monitoring the player," said Romano.
“I’m told that Jurgen Klopp is understood to be a big fan of Florian Wirtz, and so they’re among many clubs who are monitoring this player.
“The expectation around Wirtz and Bayer Leverkusen is for the player to stay, at least, for one more year. To play the Euros in summer 2024 as a Germany player of course, by staying in the Bundesliga with Bayer Leverkusen – and then maybe make a move later in summer 2024.
“So, this is the expectation for Florian Wirtz. But Barca, Real Madrid and also important to mention Liverpool, are monitoring the player.
“At the moment, it’s a very open race because nothing will be decided now.”
