Liverpool are being heavily linked with a swoop for 

. According to journalist Joe Talbot, his father, 

“Thuram has attracted more attention since last summer when Newcastle held informal talks,” 

“His father and advisor – Lilian Thuram – is pushing a move to Liverpool, though, and things are progressing, so Newcastle may have to act fast if they wish to sign the 22-year-old.”

The Reds are impressed with the 22-year-old's physicality and ability to move the ball forward. They have been in talks with the Ligue 1 side for several weeks now and have already met the player's agents.

The Frenchman is keen on joining Liverpool but L'Equipe warn that a deal would be difficult to reach, with Nice hoping to keep the midfielder.

These three have been linked with a move to the Reds for quite a long time but there are also a few other midfielders the Reds are interested in. Here they are, 

 (Inter Milan). Liverpool have admired the Italian for a long time and could try to sign him as Inter could be forced to sell him this summer due to financial problems.

 (Aston Villa). A bit unlikely the Reds will go for the Villa man as it would take a lot of money to convince Unai Emery to sell one of their best assets. But Liverpool do like him a lot.

 (Nice). An energetic midfielder Liverpool need so much to fill the Gini Wijnaldum void — and 'there is definitely interest on the Reds' part'.

 (Atalanta). Liverpool scouts have recommended the club to sign the Dutchman.

 (Wolves). Liverpool have been long-term admirers of the Portuguese. His first season with Wolves has been quite tupsy-turvy but the Reds think he can develop into a world-beater.

Romeo Lavia (Southampton). Lavia is probably not staying at St Mary's as Southampton are going down, and a fee of around £40m would be enough to get him. Chelsea are also interested in the youngster.

Of course he does.  He wants his son to become a legend at one of the two biggest clubs on Earth.   Why would he want to join the oil pretenders?  Everything they win will never be considered justified.
