'You can see how the players respect him': Mac Allister speaks out on working with Jurgen Klopp

"I hope they stay behind me and behind the team and I know they will do it, so it's a pleasure to be here at this club and I will do my best every single day."

The midfielder then left a message on social media:

"Very pleased to have signed my contract with Liverpool, a team full of history and passion. Can't wait to be able to start working with my colleagues"

Mac Allister has become Liverpool's first summer signing after the Reds agreed a bargain ₤35m move.

Now, the club will work on other transfers, with some talks

"Since I arrived here, I can see how big this club is – the players we have, the staff, everyone. I'm really pleased and looking forward to playing for this club.

"Since I won the World Cup, I said that I want to win more trophies and I think that this club will help me to do that – that’s the aim and when you are in a big club like this one you have to win trophies. So, that's what I want.

"It doesn't matter which ones. Of course every player wants to win the Champions League and the Premier League but I will do my best to help the team and try to win every trophy."

Mac Allister has been linked with a few other clubs, including Man United and Chelsea, so Liverpool should be credited with sealing the deal so quickly.

The 24-year-old has signed a five-year deal and should be with the Liverpool squad from the start of the pre-season.
