OFFICIAL: Alisson wins 22/23 Liverpool Player of the Season award

 has won their 2022/23 Player of the Season award.

The Brazilian goalkeeper came out on top in the fan-vote-based award after an impressive individual campaign with the Reds.

Alisson kept 17 clean sheets in 47 appearances for Liverpool and often saved them from trouble in key matches.

"I’ve trained with many goalies in my career but 

"As a goalkeeper, you can be very good in the air or good with your feet or have amazing reactions. Ali ticks every single box. He’s a very good person too. He keeps calm and stays humble.

"To maintain the level of consistency he’s shown every season, it’s really hard. It comes down to his work ethic.

"A hundred clean sheets is a great achievement for him. Of course defenders, midfielders and strikers have helped too. You could have Spiderman in goal but it wouldn’t work unless everyone does their jobs."

Adrian can have no complaints about being behind Alisson in the pecking order. The Brazilian was arguably 

's player of the season in 2022/23 and saved the Reds from dropping even further away from the top four.

'Don't know if I can play as many as Ray': Alisson on his long-term ambitions at Liverpool

 shared his thoughts on reaching the 100 clean sheet mark for the club and looked forward to his next goal.

"Ray [Clemence] had over 600 matches for Liverpool (665)," said Alisson. "I don’t know if I can play that amount here, but I’m already looking forward to the next 50 or 100 clean sheets, and for the next one in the next match we have.

"It would be special to be alongside them or to beat them, I admire a lot what the great goalies did, but I’m writing my own story here at Liverpool and I’m focused on that. It means a lot, even if I don’t realise how big 100 clean sheets is now. Maybe in the future I will.

"I’m not the kind of guy who is really obsessed with numbers, of course numbers give you a bit of basis if you’re doing well or not. In football you have to deal with that with stats and everything. I’m really happy to achieve this mark, 100 clean sheets for the club.

"When I saw on the internet a few names that reached this number, I’m really happy to be among them and reaching 100 clean sheets for the team. This is not a job exclusive of myself, it’s a teamwork clean sheet. My face is there but it’s the team work."
