Fabrizio Romano insists that Liverpool will try to buy a midfielder and a centre-back after completing the signing of Dominik Szoboszlai.
"Liverpool are now in the race, they are working on Romeo Lavia and they have direct contact with both the player and Southampton," the journalist said in a Youtube video, also adding that Arsenal are competing with the Reds for the 19-year-old.
"For Liverpool, despite the signings of Mac Allister and Szoboszlai, there is still the desire to bring in new players. Could be a defensive midfielder like Romeo Lavia.
"Keep an eye on a new centre-back, they want to sign one this summer."
Romano also said that Southampton are demainding £50m for Lavia and both Arsenal and Liverpool are waiting for the Saints to lower the asking price before beginning negotiations.
