Besiktas have contacted Joel Matip's agent to find out about his salary and possible signing, according to Turkish outlet Fanatik.
The Turkish club are prioritizing signing a defender this summer and have identified Matip as an experienced and quality option.
Matip's contract with Liverpool ends in 2024 and it is unlikely that Liverpool will extend it. Jurgen Klopp is expected to sign a younger centre-back to replace the 31-year-old.
Matip earns £100,000 per week at Liverpool and that figure will likely be too high for Besiktas to match.
Last season, the Cameroonian defender featured 21 times for Liverpool helping the Reds keep four clean sheets.
