‘He’s tarnished his own image’: Liverpool LGBTQ+ group leader slams Henderson’s Al Ettifaq move

Speaking about Jordan Henderson’s decision to leave Liverpool for Al Ettifaq, Kop Outs leader Paul Amann told AS: “As a player, he brought us everything. Every trophy that we could have ever hoped for, ever imagined, he captained us through all of that.

“For him to be leaving, effectively slinking out the back door, to go off to Saudi to chase money after he'd professed to be such an ally is really, really disappointing, and has left lots and lots of Kop Outs members and even the wider Liverpool fanbase wondering: ‘Who was the real Jordan Henderson?’

“For him to be leaving, effectively slinking out the back door, to go off to Saudi to chase money after he'd professed to be such an ally is really, really disappointing, and has left lots and lots of Kop Outs members and even the wider Liverpool fanbase wondering: "Who was the real Jordan Henderson?"

“And yet he's going off to a country and to a regime where much of that would not be allowed. As a person, he's rubbished his own legacy. He's tarnished his own image by choosing to side with the people who oppress rather than continue the battle against such oppression.”

Henderson left the Reds after spending 12 years at the club and winning all possible major trophies, including the Premier League and Champions League.

Despite receiving such criticism, the Englishman will get a major wage package at the Saudi Arabian club and has been reunited with ex-teammate Steven Gerrard.
