Despite claims that Moises Caicedo is determined to join Chelsea, Liverpool have not backed out of the race, according to The Athletic's James Pearce.
"Liverpool still in the race for Caicedo. It will all come down to what Chelsea do," Pearce writes.
"As things stand Liverpool still the only club to have agreed a deal with Brighton."
Early on Friday morning, it was reported that Liverpool agreed a British-record ₤110m deal to sign Caicedo.
Brighton are happy to sell the player to Liverpool, but it is Caicedo's stance that causes the current gridlock.
