Some Reds fans believe the club should have signed Ellyes Skhiri. The Tunis international left Koln on contract expiry in June and ended up signing for Frankfurt.
The 28-year-old is firmly among the top 20% of defensive midfielders in Europe by the number of interceptions, blocks and clearances made, according to stats website FBRef.
