Liverpool have enquired about PSV winger Johan Bakayoko, as per Rik Elfrink, a reliable source for PSV transfer news.
Bakayoko plays in exactly the same role as Mo Salah and scored 9 league goals last season while also providing 6 assists.
There are several other sources reporting a potential move but one PSV has explained why it would not be a good idea for Liverpool to buy him.
Transgallexi wrote on the Liverpool subreddit: "PSV fan coming here: you do not want him. Not because hes bad or anything, but hes just not ready for any move to the premier league, let alone Liverpool.
"He's good and absolutely has a fuck ton of talent but he hasn't even had his breakthrough season yet. He needs minimum two to three years to become Prem level. If you get him you'll just loan him out which is not great for his development.
"Beyond that: Bakayoko himself has said hes 'of course staying at PSV' and really enjoys it here. PSV will not even talk below 30 million euro and needs a pretty significant fee above that to start questioning whether it would be worth to sell.
"Basically: its like Liverpool buys Madueke, except Madueke was even less experienced when Chelsea bought him."
Bakayoko is by no means the finished product but if he is being bought for the academy, and would be slowly integrated into the first team as Salah's understudy, there's a chance he may blossom into a lethal attacker.
