Everton new owners accused of kidnapping and extortion, founder a drug trafficking convict

Everton's new owners 777 Partners are an extremely controversial company.

According to investigative journalists from Josimar, the company has been accused of fraud, kidnapping, extortion, predatory lending and racketeering.

In August, reports emerged that the firm was under investigation by the British Basketball League, in which they own a 45% share. However, these reports were denied by the company.

Josh Wander, the founder of the company, was convicted for drug trafficking. He was arrested for trying to smuggle cocaine to the US in 2003, when he was 21.

Everton have confirmed the takeover by 777 Partners earlier on Friday. In light of these allegations, categorically denied by the US firm, there are a lot of questions about the Premier League approving the takeover.
